Good day! 

I’m Allison Carlysle, an analyst, designer and developer based in the US. I currently work for Cartaniche Labs where I build custom eCommerce solutions software for shop owners who use eCommerce cart platforms like Oracle NetSuite, Magento/Adobe Commerce, Shopify, BigCommerce and WooComerce to build their online storefronts.

My most fulfilling endeavor however is SOCIHACKS, the passion project that Melissa Carlysle and I built to provide tech access to children from lower socio-economic backgrounds. Our SOCIHACKS kids simply don’t have access to critical STEM/STEAM education like those in areas where technology is a daily given. We along with literally hundreds of volunteers strive to change that! Since it's inception, SOCIHACKS grew so very large so very quickly! We saw firsthand that there was (and still is) simply an overwhelming inequity in technology education. But not only for young folks, parents and grandparents took interest and soon began to reach out to us daily for assistance with all kinds of “new to us” technology. Now we serve age groups spanning over eight decades! 

That said, as you peruse my blog, you will notice that I write tech articles for a general audience aka this is a tech jargon free zone. If you are curious about how something works no matter how silly you may think it is, please contact me and I will do my best to answer your tech questions or perhaps even write an article or two for you on my blog! 

Last, I travel A LOT and have lived from the east coast to the west coast of the and a couple of states in between! I make the most of my life's journey by documenting my travels as much as I can - so follow along if you wish as I document my view of this little planet we live on. She sure is a beauty isn't she?
